Reports to: Communications and Marketing Lead
Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of extension)
Working hours: Flexible, and depending on conditions of degree
Start Date: 28 October 2024 (or ASAP)
Compensation: Monthly stipend, in line with Swiss internship guidelines

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Intern to support our Communications and Marketing Lead in a range of communication and branding activities.

This role will be vital in ensuring our online presence and internal/external communications align with our brand guidelines and engage our stakeholders effectively.

You will gain valuable hands-on experience in communication strategies, website management, and digital marketing while working in a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Communications Intern, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Website Management:
    • Assisting in editing and managing website content using HubSpot and Squarespace.
      Ensuring website content is current, accurate, and in line with SEO best practices.
    • Assisting with web content creation and updates as needed.
  2. Social Media Support:
    • Crafting social media posts (LinkedIn, X, etc.) in line with the company’s brand and communication strategies.
    • Monitoring social media performance metrics and providing insights for internal review.
  3. Formatting and Document Management:
    • Supporting the team with formatting presentations (PPT), reports, and other materials to align with our brand guidelines.
    • Assisting with document management and maintaining a library of branded templates and assets.
  4. General Support:
    • Collaborating with various team members to support their communication needs, including research, proofreading, and content curation.
    • Assisting with internal communications and event promotion (if applicable).
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in any related field.
  • Digital Skills:
    • Proficiency in website CMS platforms (HubSpot and Squarespace).
    • Familiarity with social media platforms and Hootsuite.
    • Basic understanding of SEO principles.
    • Experience using Canva for design and content creation.
  • Design and Formatting Skills:
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Word, with a strong eye for formatting and visual consistency.
    • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in formatting, proofreading, and quality control.
  • Team Player and Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively about your needs and workload. The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek input or support from team members.
