Three years ago, Reos Partners’ director Adam Kahane started to write a book about a challenge that he sees as central to our work:
We are trying to get something done that we think is crucial. To do this, we need to work with others. They include people we do not agree with or like or trust. And so we are torn: we think we must and yet we feel can’t work with these others. This collaboration seems both imperative and impossible. What do we do?
In working on this book, Adam experimented with a collaborative process of “writing out loud.” He posted draft chapters on the Reos Partners’ website and invited feedback from readers. The response was outstanding, with hundreds of thoughtful comments and critiques offered of the work in progress. Adam has now completely rewritten the book, and it will be published by Berrett-Koehler in June 2017.
