Overview
Dutch civil servants from a number of different departments and ministries met in The Hague for a week of dialogue studios – focused conversations in cross-departmental teams, together with learning journeys, dialogue interviews, and design studios. The week was hosted by the Algemeine Bestuurdienst (the senior mangement development organisation for the Dutch civil service) and was designed and implemented by Reos Partners. We ran different studios for different team, focusing on both learning the change lab methodology and also addressing practically specific sustainable development challenges faced by the Dutch government including adaptation to climate change, protein supply chains, and neighborhood rejuvenation.
The underlying aim of all the studios was to give participants an experience and working knowledge of the complete change lab process. We visited neighborhoods, a farm, and other related sites around The Hague as we explored the environmental and social current and future realities facing Holland.
We are continuing to work with different ministries of the Dutch government as they use the change lab approach to address complex cross-sectoral challenges, including those related to climate change, social cohesion, and urban development.
